Consortium projects are a key instrument for financing innovation. ARIS supports the co-development of new solutions through collaborative ventures between companies and knowledge organisations.

Consortium projects are a separate strand of innovation funding. ARIS supports joint R&D and innovation projects between multiple partners. Projects typically involve companies, research organisations and other relevant stakeholders.

The essence of the instrument is to combine knowledge and competences to develop solutions with clear market potential. Projects must lead to new or significantly improved products, processes or services. 

The consortium projects cover different Technology Readiness Levels (TRLs). The TRL indicates the stage of technology development – from experimental validation to demonstration and real-world application. 

Purpose  

With consortium projects, ARIS: 

  • fosters cooperation between industry and knowledge organisations, 
  • supports the translation of research results into practice, 
  • strengthens the development capacity of companies, 
  • encourages investment in research, development and innovation, 
  • supports projects with international market potential. 

The instruments in this strand are thematically grouped according to the development phase of the project or the specific objective of the funding. 

The instrument supports the further development of successfully completed ARIS-funded applied projects.

Purpose:  

  • support for applied research, 
  • building on results already achieved, 
  • promoting knowledge transfer and commercialisation. 

Who it is for

The instrument is aimed at holders of successfully completed ARIS-funded applied projects. 

The conditions and deadlines are set out in the call.

The instrument supports collaborative R&D projects at technology readiness levels TRL 3–6. 

The projects bring together academia and industry, pooling knowledge and competences to develop new products, services and processes.

Purpose:

  • developing new solutions in priority areas, 
  • linking knowledge institutions and industry operators, 
  • support for projects featuring scientific and technological excellence and commercial potential. 

Who it is for

The instrument is aimed at partnerships between knowledge institutions and industry operators. It encourages projects that involve collaboration between academia and industry.  

The precise definition of eligible applicants is set out in the call.

The instrument is designed to co-finance long-term large research and innovation projects at technology readiness levels TRL 6–8. 

The instrument is currently being developed. Eligible applicants and conditions will be determined once the work plans and financial plans have been approved and the call has been launched.

The instrument supports the development, testing or demonstration of new or improved products, processes or services in the SAŠA and Zasavje coal regions.

Purpose:

  • contributing to the economic restructuring of coal regions, 
  • developing solutions with high added value and market potential. 

Who it is for

The instrument is aimed at consortia implementing projects in the SAŠA or Zasavje coal regions. 

A more detailed definition of the eligible applicants is set out in the call.

The instrument supports the implementation of innovative R&D projects by companies or consortia. 

Purpose:

  • developing new or improved products, processes or services, 
  • validation of solutions in a final form suitable for use in a real-world environment. 

Who it is for

The instrument is aimed at companies or consortia of companies or other partners. 

The precise definition of eligible applicants is set out in each individual public call.

Eureka is an international network supporting market-oriented R&D and innovation projects from industry, research centres and universities in all technological fields.  

ARIS enables Slovenian companies to participate in Eureka projects. 

Purpose: 

  • involving Slovenian companies in international consortia, 
  • encouraging participation in international research and development projects. 

Who it is for 

The instrument is intended for companies operating in the Republic of Slovenia. 

The eligible applicants and conditions of participation are set out in the call and the Eureka programme rules.

The instrument supports projects that contribute to the technological sovereignty and security of the European Union, reduce strategic dependencies and strengthen the competitiveness, resilience and productivity in the economy. 

It also supports the preparation of the industrial and technological base for the green and digital transition. 

Purpose: 

  • development and deployment of critical and emerging strategic technologies, 
  • strengthening value chains in digital technologies and deep-tech innovation, 
  • developing clean and resource-efficient technologies and biotechnologies. 

Who it is for 

The instrument is aimed at companies or consortia of companies (in accordance with ZPOP-1) headquartered in the cohesion region of Eastern Slovenia. 

The detailed conditions are set out in the public call. 

The instrument is currently being developed. A more detailed description will be published once the work plan and financial plan have been approved.
