Complementary schemes are funding instruments for Slovenian applicants in international innovation projects. ARIS uses them to complement European funding and promote international cooperation between companies.

Complementary schemes allow Slovenian companies and other eligible applicants to participate in international R&D and innovation projects.
Instruments in this category:
- support participation in international consortia,
- encourage the development of market-oriented innovation,
- allow the co-financing of projects that are part of European or international initiatives.
ARIS strengthens the presence of Slovenian companies in the European research and innovation area. The exact conditions of participation are set out in the individual calls and in the rules of the international programmes.
The instrument facilitates the implementation of Eurostars 3. The programme supports innovative small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and their partners in carrying out joint R&D and innovation projects.
The project results in a new process, product or service with an expected short time to market entry.
Purpose:
- encouraging the implementation of market-oriented projects,
- involving Slovenian companies in international consortia,
- supporting cooperation between businesses and other partners.
Who it is for
The instrument is aimed at innovative SMEs and their partners (large companies, academic institutions, research institutes and other organisations) and Slovenian companies participating in international consortia within the framework of the Eurostars programme.
The detailed conditions are set out in the public call and the Eurostars rules.
The European Innovation Council (EIC) instrument stimulates investment in research, development and innovation and supports the market uptake of breakthrough technological and non-technological innovations.
It is open to projects that have been awarded the Seal of Excellence in the Horizon Europe programme.
Purpose:
- fostering the transformation of innovations into marketable products,
- strengthening the competitive position of companies in European and global markets,
- building links between businesses and research institutions.
Who it is for
The instrument is open to Slovenian applicants that have been awarded the Seal of Excellence under the Horizon Europe programme, as well as to companies developing breakthrough innovations and collaborating with research institutions.
