Lead Agency Agreement: Agreement between the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Public Research Agency of the Republic of Slovenia (ARRS) – on hold

Memorandum of Understanding: Agreement between the Swiss National Science Foundation (SNSF) and the Slovenian Research Agency (ARRS) (referred to as “Partner Organisations”) on a Lead Agency Procedure for the unilateral administration of the evaluation procedure and the mutual recognition of the evaluation results for concerning Swiss-Slovenian Joint Bilateral Projects – on hold

Since 2023, ARIS has discontinued public calls for (co)financing the Slovenian part of Weave joint research projects, where ARIS acts as a partner agency. Instead, (co)financing is now provided through direct contracts. Applicants can find further information at the following link: Weave - information for applicants (valid from 2nd June 2025)

• Opening the possibility to submit the Slovenian part of the Weave research project application to ARIS: 2nd February 2026
• Deadline for submission of the joint application of the Weave research project to the SNSF: 1st April 2026 at 17:00(SNSF – April deadline)
• Deadline for submission of the Slovenian part of the Weave research project application at ARIS: 8th April 2026 at 17:00
• Anticipated date of publication of results: December 2026
• Estimated start of (co)financing the Slovenian part of the Weave research projects: 1st March 2027

When completing the application form WEAVE-SNSF/2026-1, the applicant must indicate in the application the total amount of requested (co)financing for each national/regional part of the Weave research project expressed in EUR. The amounts must correspond to the amounts indicated in the joint application of the Weave research project submitted to the lead agency (SNSF). In doing so, it is necessary to consider the possible exchange rate published by the leading agency (SNSF). In the event that the leading agency has not published the exchange rate, the exchange rate published by the Bank of Slovenia on February 2, 2026 must be considered for the conversion from foreign currency to EUR.
